Would you buy a Biplane Forum T-shirt?

All slim profits would go towards website up-keep.

To keep costs down, I would be ordering 2 sizes only, I am thinking XL and XXL would be a good mix.

Please reply with feedback...

I'll take at least two . . . I know my wife wouldn't let me wear the same one all week at Oshkosh
Any logo on the back ? I wana be able to identify forum members going or coming.

Actually a "far-out" color would work just as well as a logo on the back

I'd buy one or two. I like a large logo on the back and a small one over the front breast pocket area. Just my opinion. I'dbuy either way.

Here is a website for great airplane t-shirts: www.AirplaneTShirts.com. I have ordered 100's of shirts from them for my model airplane club and they are great to work with. He will make whatever you want and has a great inventory of stunning airplane art. I'm a sucker for a shirt that has a colorful airplane on it.

We would be up for two even though XLs would be a bit big on us. Another source you might consider is www.cafepress.com

They will make clothing, hats, mugs, etc in very small quantities from a j-peg file. I have used them and the colors on t-shirts aren't as stable as conventional silk-screening but the coffee mugs we had made still look great.

Sure I'd take a XXL. But I would recommend that you find a good print to put on there and make the T-shirt the kind you want to wear since it represents the forum to the public and then don't be shy about pricing it so that you can generate the profit that in turn supports the forum. Otherwise, forget the shirt and pass the hat.

Out of curiosity, since I know nothing about running a website, what are the costs involved in keeping this going? Are they proportional to the number of members? Does it ever taper off? Are some sites more expensive?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I have come up with something, the shirt will match the forum branding in order to be recognizable, andI tried to accomodate most ideas:
Any logo on the back ? I wana be able to identify forum members going or coming.

Large Forum motive on back like the forum header above.

I like a large logo on the back and a small one over the front breast pocket area.

Front will be the same motive but very small [no 'melting pot...text]on left breast
...make the T-shirt the kind you want to wear since it represents the forum to the public...

That's my sentiments exactly

Al, I understand why you like cool biplane piccys, but we can buy a cool plane shirt from anywhere. I want this shirt to be unique to us here. I wasn't keen on utilizing a specific biplane pic because I didn't want to display a specific model - I'm trying to embody us as a 'generic' biplane forum - hence the black silluoette biplane in the logo [it looks like many a biplane].

I am going to order a couple' dozen. If there is a genuine show of hands for sizes other than XL & XXL, please confirm your size, and I will get them, but I need to know ASAP.

All pricing will be under $20, XXL will be +$2.

Like all things, you get what you pay for when it comes to web space. This can range from $3.99 a month [with suspect promises of unlimited space/bandwidth etc], to $30 a month for larger sites, depending upon size. At work we pay much more than these figures [we get over a million hits monthly].

Proportional to # of members? Kinda. The more members we get, the more bandwidth and disc space we use. Images and the likes of PDF filesare the culprits, but we need them: 'a picture speaks a thousand words'.

Hi Beej,

Sorry I haven't been on the forum lately... it's like the sky opened and stuff rained down on me. Not much progress on the project either.

Anyhoo, I would like to purchase one of the large t-shirts when you get them. Will you be able to accept paypal?

Thanks!

Sorry I sent this before I checked out the new t-shirt order buttons on the welcome page. My paypal has been sent for an XL t-shirt.

Many Thanks!Edited by: Bobby

I am picking the t-shirts up tomorrow, and will get them out asap for those who have ordered so far.

The final design is pretty much self explanatory in the little ad I have on the right of the welcome page.

Paypal is used for the processing. Note: You do not have to join Paypal - just use their credit card processing.

I have a a couple of the Large size left over, so if anyone wants one at that size please PM me.

Got mine today too. One of each size. I will wash/shrink them and see which one I really want to order.
John, sometime when you are just setting around waiting for someone to make a post here what's the possibility of making the pictures at the top of the screen available as full size printable pictures if we clicked on them? Just a thought. I am always hanging up pictures and comparing paint jobs.
If it is to difficult a job no problem. I don't want to have to buy Biplaneforum jump suits next to support your bad habit )

Hi Beej,

I got my t-shirt today (Monday 12/4). It looks great. I am wearing it to my next EAA meeting (Chapter 723, Camarillo CA).

Thanks for all you do!

WOW - most were mailed 3pmfriday.Regular USPS too. I wished orders from A.S.S. were so speedy ;-\

Ref the pics, unfortunately I don't havethe full size images. They were just pics that I googled for randomly and would never come across them again except by chance. However, if someone is willing to send me some cool high quality pics, I would make them available as 'desktop wallpaper' etc.

Fot those contemplating a T-shirt purchase - I am 6', 225 lbs. 44" chest, the XL fits perfect after wash/dry/shrink. Quality is excellent. My wife claimed the XXL as a night shirt. Now the first thing I see every morning is BIPLANEFORUM.COM ))

The side bar on the front page has a link to the ordering.

They're 100% cotton so allow for some shrinkage. I usually wear a large, got the XL and after a wash it fits nice.
