Plane Type Building a Skybolt with a 540

Does anyone on the Biplane Forum site have parts for the O-290-D2 Lycoming or parts for the O-290-GPU. I have acquired most of the parts for the SA-100 single place Starduster and plan on building it as a replica of Lou Stolps second Starduster N2314C.

I am looking for a serviceable crank, regrindable cam, cam gear and lifters as well as accessory gears and accessory housing that that has provisions for the engine driven fuel pump as well as the oil cooler fittings. Also I am looking for an MA3SPA Carb or perhaps other carbs that might work. I have a certified O290-D2 case and oil pan and a polished O290-G thin flanged crankshaft but would prefer not to use it,  along with all of the cylinders and pistons. But am missing a number of small parts and hardware like , rear intake tubes, accessory gear axles, oil pick up screen, magneto drive gears S4LN, tach drive shaft, dip stick. Cylinder hold down nuts, oil pump castle nuts, and inter cylinder baffles. If anyone has some of these parts laying around or knows of someone that does and would like to part with them I would love to hear from you. Dave

Dave,
I have all the parts you may need as I have a couple of these engines for parts.  You want to build a -D2.
Paul Muhle showed up with a beautifully restored Starduster here at OSH.

Well thanks Don I will give you a call so that we can converse about the details. Also my friend Gary Betendorf flew his airplane to Oshkosh from Salem Or but was unable to get in due to all the wet ground and had to leave it at Appelton. Whats the best time to call?  Monday?  Dave

N198DB.  I dont know the owner even though I talked to him for a second.  0-290  125 HP.  It was restored to be a show plane.  Red metallic paint, same painted engine, and the stripe is on the inside of the metal panels too.  I am starting to restore one too so I had some interest in it.  Saw it fly, too.

I have pictures of N198DB from around 2003 at the Lee Bottom fly in in Indiana.  It looked like a nice example of a Starduster. I missed it at Oshkosh.

All opinions are my two cents worth, your rate of climb may vary.
