Default portable tie downs

What is the best portable tie down system. Need to get one before the National Biplane fly in, and don't have time to build one.

I have the Claw and it seems fine although you'll find "tests" on various websites that say otherwise. One warning I would offer is to buy some spare spikes... 20" from your local big box home improvement store. Last year my son and I were tying down @ OSH and when hammering in one of the Claw's spikes... "boing" - the nail head snapped off and went flying several feet leaving us with one tie down with only 2 spikes. Bought a large tent spike on the field to substitute but the diameter was too small.. fortunately we didn't have any severe weather to test it. Taking a look at the broken spike showed rust on the top of the spike where the head had been. It appeared that one half of the nail head was not attached or had cracked.

Anyway, I'll be replacing all my spikes with the 20" galvanized ones from my local Home Defects. They are the right length and diameter.

Not much experience but, people I know and trust their decisions use the Claw. I have that but will be pulling out the ropes and going to a quicker type with a ratchet strap of some sort. Two weeks ago we did a small X country and the tie downs were almost too far apart at PDC for the ropes to reach my little bipe

Not trying to stir anything up. I plan on continuing to use the Claw just not with those spikes. Here are a couple pics to show what happened... sorry they're sideways.

The first pic shows, left to right... or bottom to top, the broken spike, a regular Claw spike, and my Home Depot replacement.

The second pic shows the top of the broken spike. As you can see there was less than 50% of the nail head attached.
