Yeah he's done a few projects over the years. He still has the S-2A stuff.

Since the last update, a lot has happened, fuselage is now in silver as well as the tail, received the motor from JB Aircraft engines, started to make the new cowling, made some progress on the wings, and wired the airplane.

Also went to the Thomasville fly in in! Great little fly in in and tons of fun!

Just curious, are you not putting tapes over the rib stitching on the tail feathers?

Good call going with 2 hinge ailerons. Looks good

Looks double covered to me mark..... eliminating the tapes.

I recently went back to the two aileron design for my wings after trying for a long time to convince myself the three hinge option had some advantages. The extra hinge is nearly 3 lbs of added weight all things considered. Hard to justify with ailerons that are shorter than the Raven or Wolf ailerons.

Looks like you are using the same nose bowl I used on my Acro Sport. If I were building a new cowling I would use a 1" prop spacer and move the bowl forward just enough to get the proper clearance with the spinner. That gives more clearance for the ring gear and it allows you to remove the starter bump and use any starter you want. The bump limits you to a 10" spinner. Are you planning to split the bowl? Just noticing the vertical line drawn on it. Mine is split horizontally. Spliting the nosebowl

Per usual, your every other month update. Not only am I bad up updating this, I’m terrible at taking pictures. Since the last post, new cowling is made, trimmed, fit, and primed. Baffling all scratch made and finished. All oil hoses made. Lower right wing is ready to varnish, left wing is ready to drill for the drag wires. Top wing spars required a lot more work than expected to get ready to splice together but finally got it them square and glued up then sanded, center section ribs glued on as well as the spar caps, then the top center section skin. I’ll grab more pictures tomrrow to complete this post.

Looking good!
Are you using laminated wood for your Trailing edges? I think wooden ones are better.
Will withstand a hit where the alum will leave a dent.
