Default Anyone using ECi Aerobatic Crankshaft?

I plan to convert my IO-360-A1B for use in my Skybolt build. I've found a new solid flange, .440" thick, ECI crankshaft, P/N AEL36101 that I believe will work with my engine. ECI was bought by Continental and some of these crankshafts are still available. Has anyone on the forum used one of these crankshafts or know anything good or bad about them. This is a sizable investment, and I want to make a good choice. Thanks.

I didn't think ECI was going anywhere? The crankshaft is a PMA replacement and should identical to its Lycoming and Superior counterparts.

I just installed an eci acro crank in my engine last week. It's a crank like any other. Not overly impressed with their quality; prop bushings were not fully seated and one was sticking out 3/8 between the bushing flange and crank flange. The machine work and polishing are acceptable, not exceptional and I had to wait five weeks for delivery. It checked out dimensionally. If Superior was an option I'd go that direction. Did not even consider lycoming, one for their price and second because of their poor customer service.

I put an ECI crank in an engine for a friend of mine. P/N AEL36001-1 This is configured the same as for an O360 A4A. Solid crank with a solid flange. Seemed to be a nice piece. Miced out right on the money.

I have one also. In stock for about 4 years. Set up for C/S prop. Seems well done with none of the problems mentioned above.

Thanks to all, good information. If I go with this I'll ask them to make sure the prop bushings are properly seated.
