Default Adjustment Levels for MGL V6 Radio

I am looking for some information on setting up the internal intercom on my MGL V6 for open cockpit flying. I wanted to see if anyone flying open cockpit is using the MGL V6 and what adjustment levels they have set for microphone gain/level, VOGAD, and VOX settings for the intercom.

I just went through this on my Eagle.

I'm using a Halo, in ear headset. Depending on what you're using, your levels will be different.

I have the transmit mic option set to "hot". It doesn't work well at all set to vox.
I have the mic level set down to -5.0, or maybe -7.5 db.

Since my mic gain is set so low, I don't have to turn the Vogad up very high. I think its on Low, 5 right now. Since you're open cockpit, you might want to start with the low mic gain settings, but with VOGAD set to Medium-midrange and tweak from there.

Its a pretty nice little radio after you figure out how to set it up.

Did you set the radio with the engine running? At idle or at power if you did?

It's best to set it in flight. That's the only way to get real world operating conditions. The settings I posted above should get you started. Tweak as needed from there. I also found that calling MGL was helpful.
