Anyone needing a crankshaft I'd suggest calling Colorado Air Parts. They have a good inventory of reconditioned cranks (usually from Aircraft Specialties in Tulsa) and they can save you some $$ over a new one. They made a great deal on a crank for a recent rebuild on my engine.

Just was curious to what caused that to shear at the flange like that.

Look at the engine closely, the pushrod tubes and cylinder find on the front and top of the engine are crushed. Probably from a nose over. I'd guess storm damaged.

They wanted a chunk of money for it when it was originally on Barnstormers.

It came off a GLAC that hit the trees with the left gear and left lower wing. Spun around and prop was taken off backwards. The aircraft landed tail first and crushed it. All fixed now. The case was undamaged near the thrust area. Just the main journal area had typical minor cracks. Now all done, going on other GLAC in FTW. This bird will have a Warner 165.
