Thanks.

I just barely beat that extra. Less than .5% overall. It was the guy's second contest and he flies very well.

The other extra driver was going to fly intermediate, but was talked into sportsman since he was the only intermediate competitor. He had never flown the sportsman sequence before and had a brain fart on the first flight. Got lucky there. He outscored me on the second flight.

Met a buddy of yours up there too. Another Eagle owner named Randy.

If we are posting results from the weekend...

Eric Anderson earned 1st place Intermediate at the Warrenton contest. Ron Schreck flew his RV-8 to 5th place.

Jason Flood earned 1st place Advanced at Warrenton ahead of a Staudacher, a Panzl, and an Extra 330

Best of luck,

Wes

And Grassroots (Eric Sandifer) won Unlimited in his S1S!
He gets more out of that Pitts than anyone I've ever watched fly.
Being on the line for almost all of the flights, there was some very good flying going on. Beautiful weather, and great fellowship.
Noticeably absent was the Chihuahua. What's up with that??

I was watching the video of Eric flying on Facebook, really incredible flying.

Not to threadjack, but thanks for the way generous comments fellas. I look at the videos and see lots of slop. ...Not to mention the inability to fly the figures per the card in all three flights, which is a personal record.

Great job Cameron - glad you're putting that sweet new Eagle to good use!

Cameron, my apologies for the thread jack and not acknowledging your win!
Regardless of how many points separated you and the competition, yours was more than theirs! Enjoy the accolades.
Eric, I will admit you had a couple brain cramps, but you yourself admitted you hadn't practiced or been flying and still outflew the competition. That says a lot about your skills. AND you need to conduct a snap roll seminar for the rest of us poor excuse for acro pilots. Of all the snap rolls I judged this weekend, consistently the best overall.

No big deal. I didn't start this thread anyway....haha. Felt good to finally win a contest though, especially with some stiff competition. This was my first contest in about three years and probably fourth or fifth overall.

It was fun. Looks like biplanes dominated the weekend.

I guess we'll see how good or bad I really am at nationals.

Cameron,
When are you leaving for the Nationals and where are you staying?
We are planning to fly the Acro down Weds or Thurs and then driving the RV the following day.

I'm planning on heading up on Friday, 9/22. We're staying at Hawthorne.
