Default Becker com

I'm planning on installing a Becker com in an available panel opening. There are plenty of nice functioning used ones out there. Any advice on the model to go with? 3201/4201/6201? Very noisey environment. Thanks

Brian

i bought a 3201 off ebay - long story short, its ok, but Very Very basic. It has no standby frequency. Mine turned out to be a dud, and the vendor will not take it back, so i am out 300 and still need a radio.

I am going for a 4201. More features, and still affordable.

The 6201 is current, most features, but most costly.

hope this helps.

I have a Becker in my s-2s which is about as loud as it gets and the radio is very clear and works great.

Iím pretty sure there are some that are more powerful than others. So make sure you get one that isnít for gliders. When Europe changed frequently (or something) all of a sudden a lot of Beckerís became available on the used market but Iíve heard some arenít good for the loud environment. I know itís not a instrument hole radio but Iím using the GTR-200 from Garmin and it has built in stereo intercom and input. NDTOO has one in his 540 Starduster Too and is happy with it. Itís about a $1200 radio new. Very few used ones because itís so new.

Just got a next to new Ar4201. 360 bucks. The reason they are getting dumped on the market is due to europes 8.33 spacing rule. Everyone over there is being forced into replacement.
