Default Farmers Pride Fly In

Made the journey up to PA this morning and visited with Gmann750 (Mark Gonzo) and Biplane Bob.
The fly in was well attended and some very nice airplanes in attendance.
Saw Wacos, Stearmans, Jerry Wells is the keeper of Frank Price's Jungmeister, Cubs, Champs, some classics and spam cans. Lots of eye candy. The airport family put on a feed that was awesome.
Mark and I have been talking for quite a while but hadn't met in person. Great to make that happen.
Got a good look at Gonzo's Eagle, very nice airplane.
Bob was great to chat with and was very nice showing me his airplane stem to stern. Looks like a fun airplane to play with.
Will look forward to another visit with those guys.

Wanted to make it down for this unfortunately had to work. We have a plane going to Europe on wed. And it wasn't even close to being ready.... now at least it's close!

I flew Miss Smith to a breakfast in SW Wisconsin this morning. No other bipes there but saw some interesting craft including a Yac T model, a fast back, 4 place, trainer with 400 hp M 14, that was cool! I liked it.

We had a great fly in breakfast today @ CBE coupled with cars, MC's and RC's. Very successful. I flew the AD2 over from 1W3(1/2 mile) and gave Marcia her first and probably last(another story) ride in it back. Lots of RV's. Only other bipes were a Baby Lakes and a friend's PT17.

I never remember to take pics.
I left there and flew to NC to pick up my mom. Using ForeFlight and didn't take a charger landed with very little battery left.

Glad you made it up Mark! It was very nice to put a face to the voice and talk some airplanes and other stuff. You are welcome anytime. Always good to see Bob and the Willy II also.

Default Ducting outs side the cowling?

Hey Bob, am I seeing things or is that an external duct on the outside of the cowl coming from the front of the cowling?

attached is a photo from the front, The "Duct" is there to cover a change in the exhaust system after the airplane was built,
a bonus is greatly reduced cylinder head temperatures due to the increased cooling air exit area.

Sorry I couldn't make it, kinda hard when you crash your plane a week beforehand...

But I greatly enjoyed practicing landings there on the way home from Memphis in my new to me Starduster last spring, what a beautiful field! Meeting the Secret Service guys there was kinda weird, though...
