Default Flying-wire Update and Questions

Well I thought I had things under control, but I'm not getting the tensions I'm supposed to on the right wing flying-wires (haven't tried the left because had another issues that we just resolved last night). I have -.1* dihedral on the upper wing and the landing-wires are:

Rear - 700
Front - 775

The flying-wires are:

Back

Rear - 325
Front - 375

Front

Rear - 100
Front - 200

I started with +.4* dihedral on the top so I had a chance of 0 when finished. The only way I can figure how to get more on the flying is to have less on the landing when starting. This will result in a more negative dihedral on the top when finished. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Chad

Chad,
You may be running into soft metal causing low reading. i would go back to the fish scale and measure deflection and compare side to side. You could also swap flying wires from right to left to see if tensions follow the wires.
This is like Glenn's power problem...everyone is anxious for the solution.

PS; i always like to look at things from the extremes, say the wires were so stiff that they could not be bent...the reading would be infinite. Then say the wires were like rubber bands, the reading would be zero.

Do the wires on the left have tension? You dont want to pull/twist the cabane if one side is slack. Which wires are you turning when adjusting?

Are you saying you are only trying to tighten one side?

People smarter than me please chime in.... Wouldn't you need tension on the other side?

No. I tried to do both sides together, but had an issue with one of the stops for a flying-wire (resolved Friday) on that side so I was trying to just figure out how to tighten them on the right. I'll loosen the right up and start all over again.

Had an issue with the left wing and then was trying to learn how to tighten in general on the right side. Issue has been resolved and I'm going to loosen the right and start over.
