Here are the old Starduster Newsletters. They make interesting reading from yesteryear, and still have a lot of good information no matter what you are building. The files are in pdf format.

Warning: These files are HUGE in byte size (some are 30MB!). The best way to view these is Right click and 'Save Target As' to your local machine.

More have been uploaded (91 onwards). The colored ones are very big in file size. Any mistakes like dead links/wrong links let me know.

There is some great info in them, ie. there is an article that states that McWhyte flying wires were not rolled threads, but chased threads...

I hate to bump up an old thread like this; however, I just became aware of it today. By the way, awesome thread. In addition to the files listed here, I have a few more that you might want to add.

  1. Starduster Magazine Winter 2003-2004 This magazine was published when the old club was being revitalized. It was the only mag published.
  2. Starduster Magazine Index This is an index in PDF format
  3. Starduster Magazine Index This is an index in excel format - useful for sorting.
  4. The Starduster Magazine from October 1996 does not have pages 9 - 18 included. These were not in the originals that I borrowed when I copied all of these in the first place. I have been hoping that someone would let me borrow their copy of this issue so that I could update the set. Any volunteers?
  5. I have several other files that might be handy for this sort of reference if you are interested.
I do not seem to be able to upload these files. I will be glad to send these files to anyone who asks.

Charles

Charles Most people are not aware that these magazines still exist right here on the Biplane forum as well as the Starduster web site. You want pages for what issue? 1966, their was to my knowledge in 1966, no Starduster magazine. I went to work for Stolp Aircraft in 1966 shortly after he moved from Corona to Riverside and Fla bob airport! There was however a publication called Stardusters International edited by Wil Neubert but the first issue was Sept 1970 when he started it? Perhaps you meant October of 1976 anyway thanks for the reboot of this information as many on here have no idea that these publications even exist. Dave

Thanks Dave -

My fingers typed in 1966 instead of 1996. I'll go back and edit.

It's the October 1996 issue that is missing pages 9-18. If someone has a copy with these pages intact, I will be glad to add it to the rest of the collection.

I think that most (if not all) all of these magazines that I originally copied were from John Huie's collection. It was most gracious of him to let me borrow his magazines.

Charles did you want page 9 and 18 or pages 9 through 18 as I have the original master for the October1996 issue? Please send me your E-mail and phone number in a private message and I will size them and E-mail them to you. Dave
