Seat bottom & back material

Regardless of fixed or adjustable seats, has anyone tried nylon mesh for the seat bottom and back? This would be similar to the seat construction found in some off-road racing trucks. These seats are comfortable and made to withstand several g's. On the web sites for Skybolt contstruction, I see a lot of steel and aluminum pans and metal webbing, but I have not seen any withsynthetic mesh material. Anyone think this is a bad idea?
