Sending a couple of pictures. In the manual it states one important tool for constructing the ailerons is a block plane. I have one or two of these and they do work very good for starting to profile the bull / rounded nose of these little wings. Then you end up with a multi faceted leading edge. that is quite rough.
To smooth this out I have a sanding file from 3M. You can get these from an Automotive repair supplier. It takes sandpaper grits from 50to 180.
It does a great job for smoothing things out.
To start the shaping I snapped a chalk line between the end ribs, that gave me a guide to plane to and keep the front in line and not wavy. Then carefully plane the rounded shape and smooth the ply wood edges.
