• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

A little too quiet

Things are a little too quiet here on the Marquart Charger section of the board. What is everyone up to?

I have my plane opened up for its annual condition inspection. Last inspection was in June, but I want to get the schedule switched over to a spring signoff date so that I don't have to lose prime flying season time... besides, the plane desperately needed a thorough going over.

I've been replacing old/worn parts here and there. Getting some instruments working that aren't working properly. Got the fuel system fixed up and isolated one of the aux wing tanks which is to become a smoke oil tank. Installing smoke system plumbing and wiring. Replacing the old radio and intercom with something decent that works. Adding an aux power jack. New carpets on the floorboards. Repositioned some stuff in the cockpit to give the pilot a lot more room. Thorough cleandown firewall forward...thorough cleaning of years of dirt and much from the inside lower fuselage. And about a gazillion other small projects. It's keeping me more than busy :)
