• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I posted about a month or so ago about looking at buying a project, well as fate would have it I did. I took possession last night of an Acroduster that was listed on barnstormers and just outside Denver. The previous owner used to be an active member here, and from my preliminary looks did very nice work. Now I have a serious amount of work ahead of me that I am sure will be frustratingly pleasant, or pleasantly frustrating. Either way I am excited to be building something that from the sounds of it will be an absolute riot to fly. I have no plans for hard Aerobatics but I might dive into to some sportsman competition stuff if I am good enough. Either way this should be an amazing adventure. I appreciate all the advice and knowledge that is here, Having read through a lot of the old posts was fairly insightful. a couple questions, 1) which engine would everyone recommend? ( I plan on 200 HP at a minimum and a constant speed prop for what ever engine it is. 2) Strait center section or pointy? I plan on putting the fuel tank up there too. I will leave it at those for the time being as I am sure there will be millions more. with equally as many answers for each.

Pic to follow.
