I know this topic has been up before, but I woud like to ask. What is the opinion on hose fittings from auto racing firms as Summit Racing or JEGS. I am talking about the Aeroquip 816 fittings for the 601 stainles steel braided hoses. Those fittings from the Auto firms are much, much cheaper than those from Aircraft Spruce. They look exactly the same, though are not called 816 but something else. For instance an 816-10D from Spruce is $49.50 and a similar looking one from JEGS is 12.49. I do not want inferior quality, as a failure of a hose is a serious thing, so what are your opinion ?
