I have a question concerning the Aileron links. I am just about to revarnish the Aileron links on a Pitts S1T.
Before removing the Paint I noticed a wire under sometape running along the Aileron link on the inboard sides.

Is it right that this wire is to prevent vibration of the Links or is this a method to reduce drag?

Is it also possible to use a "jag" band (or jagged band) as often seen under the wings on high performance gliders?

Thanks for Your helpEdited by: N202WL
