• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Still working on my Starduster, after installing the belly sheet metal found the strobe not working. It's a Whelen unit, that I think the strobe tube is bad. So what to do, buy a $150.00 strobe tube and hope that's it or look at something else. Looking through the internet I found a company called Kuntzleman Electronics, they have single strobe (power pack, strobe tube, lens and wire) for around $165.00 delivered, I bought one. The size of the power pack is about the same size as the Whelen unit, but weighed over 1.5 pounds less. The strobe light assembly was just a few ounces. install was straight forward, except I used different fasteners then what was provided (they provided stainless self tapping screws) I used #6 machine screws, and soldered and shrink tubed the connections instead of using the provided butt connectors. It's in and flashing, I saved some weight and maybe some money. If you are looking at installing a strobe you may want to look at what these folks sell. They also sell a wing tip running light / strobe unit. There Phone # is (610) 326 9068
