CASA (Australia’s version of FAA) is changing the maintenance regulations to align with FAR 43. This is a great improvement for us down under as the current regs I follow to annual my Pitts are massive overbearing.
There is a feedback period for interested parties which expires 31st Jan.
I look forward to being able to make changes under the minor mod regs, and independent IA’s do my annual. At the moment any variation to the manufacturer’s design requires an STC or CASA approval, even to install a Hobbs meter or attach a go pro. And annuals have to be completed in an approved workshop, I can’t have an IA do it in my hangar.
