Looking for a Pitts...specifically an S-1c ..... Stashed in back of a hangar and needing some love.

Made a promise to myself that if I could lose 50 lbs, I'd resurrrect a Pitts as a "reward".

The S-1c was the first Pitts I remember lusting over as a kid in the '70s....so thats what I'd like to find. May not be the flashiest or sportiest of the breed....but ya can't change your heart.....

Help me with some leads.........

There's one on Barnstormers . Texas and I feel is a good buy if it has the 53'' fuselage . I does come with an O290 at , I believe $4,500.00 . Be careful on the C's , some are short and if you're loosing weight to fit , that's critical . You'll have to look it over and make sure it's not a turd .

There is the one here in FL advertised as a flyer but is really a project (barnstormers)
There is(was?) also one in Vegas (Sandy Valley) that had cracks in lower wing spar

I lusted for one in the 70's and bought it. Best flying experience I could imagine. It was a short one and was tight with a chute even when I weighed 145# . If I got in a short one today I'd need a chain fall to get out. Go for it!

Call John at 812-240-4736. He has a 1967 S1C short fuselage with 0-320 for sale in Indianapolis. It's flyable but will need attention very soon. He's had it for sale for about 9 or 10 months. If my memory serves he's asking 18K.
