I have a few panels and fuel tank I am stripping paint from. Last time I stripped a plane, methylene chloride was still available and worked great. I kind of “missed the note” that it has been prohibited and I can’t seem to find anything that is near as potent. I think I’ve tried three brands. Those that are called “aircraft stripper” seem to work best, but still week. While I understand methylene chloride is quite toxic, it seems that it takes multiple times more of the new stuff to do the job…..seems the longer exposure can have equal long term effects.
Anyway…anyone find anything that works well? What are the paint shops doing?
