Steve Wolf, my son Kallin, and I made a trip to Fantasy of Flight today so Steve could look at Kermit’s P47. Steve is building a 60% P47 of his own design. While there, we visited some old friends. The R2 that Steve built 30 years ago and the Z I built 25 years ago. Also took a look at the black staggerwing we restored 38 years ago. I was 19 when I did the fuselage woodwork, fabric and paint on this one.
We did talk biplanes a good bit over lunch while sharing Curtis Pitts stories. All in all a fun day.
