Crankshaft seal blown out while inverted on a lycoming IO-320 with a Christen inverted oil system. Before flight had taken oil separator off for another reason and did confirm ball clanking when turned over.

Does anybody know other than a clogged vent line if there is a part besides the oil separator can that would cause the crankcase to pressurize and blow out the seal?

As far as I know the ball valve unit connected to the oil supply lines is for choosing where to get the oil form not the venting. My oil pressure stays at 60 psi normal or inverted flight.

Any info would be greatly appreciated..

Jim
