    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I blew the dipstick loose10 minutes into an acro flight yesterday. I heard a loud "pop" and noticed oil blowing from the cowling. Landed ueventfully. Lost about 1/2 quart.

Has this happened to anyone? I tightened the disptick as normal after checking oil during preflight. Seems the pop I heard would point to pressure build up, rather than it simply vibrating loose. I haven't yet checked the breather line or any other systems for restriction or clogging. Factory S-1S, AEIO-360, Christen Inverted Oil. Curious if there would be an obvious causeand prevention from this happening again.
