• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

hi guys, I'm working on a small biplane that has fuel problems. Everything is fine until the fuel gets to about half tank and increased pitch attitude the engine quits. Looking for ideas from the group I've replumbed the system and haven't flown it since. what I had was work done by a few different people with all kinds of there ideas none of which worked, so now its plumbed tank to gascolator to engine and have good flow at the carb with full tank. It's a 85hp engine and the flow is about 4-5 psi per measured flow. Its my guess that as the deck angle / fuel level reaches level the fuel flow stops or slows down.
The engine doesn't have a fuel pump and no electric pumps in the system , on certified planes easy fix put pumps in but the owner would like to keep the money at a min. So what do you recommend for this? Thanks.
