• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi all:

I'm not building anything yet, but have had the urge to for a very long time. I've been flyingan Aerostar for the last few years, and I nowno longer have the need to travel. Consequently, my plane is currently for sale. Once it sells, I'd like to start building something.

I've seriously considered building an RV-8, but my heart keeps me going back to look at biplanes. Also, not needing to travel, I think I'd be happier trading some cross-country capability for something that's more fun, and more aerobatic, although I don't think I'll ever get the urge to seriously compete. Since my job is very time consuming and I have two young children, I need to find somewhat of a quickbuild kit if I hope to complete the plane in any reasonable amount of time.

I've been looking at the Skybolt. I love the looks of the Christen Eagle (butwow! is it expensive). I've recently come across the Raven online (does anyoneknow anything about this plane?).

In the meantime, I've been enjoying the detailed posts with photos showing the construction of planes on this forum.

Thanks!

Brad
