In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

It is much more enjoyable to answer "stupid" questions than to have to ask them but I give up, I have looked for two days on the webb for fittings and found nothing :(
I have to extend both the tank and gascolator drains through the bottom belly skin. I have been looking for a 1/2" tube to 1/4" npt and a 1/8" tube to 1/8" npt bulkhead fittings. If found both of these fittings would require using an internal threaded sleeve to attach the drain valves. I would like to use solid compression tube fittings but at this point I would accept flexible tube and radiator clamps as a last resort :(
I have found these fittings with compression threads on both ends but I am not going to use a cap for a drain !!
I know I am far from the first that has needed to do this so what fittings did you guys use ?
Or, am I going totally in the wrong direction, in which case - double :(:(
Thank you for your help,
