Hi All.

I'd like to see any drawings or sketches of centersection construction on various designs. I've had to modify my centersection for my stearman replica a bit to keep fuel capacity...but am considering different methods for cross bracing and compression.

For the moment i've built the wood structure...forward and aft spars..nose ribs and nose stringer, plywood end ribs, laminatied bow rear. The bottom is covered in heavy ply. The ply should give some of the compression and crossbracing strength needed.

I intended to run 2 aluminum round tubes thru the tank at 45's (V) and slide 4130 braces thru the middle...similar to tripacers and a bit like the acroduster "i think" internal drag bracing.

This is a pretty tricky build and i'm wondering if there are designs that rely on sheeting to give the total required strength. Another opton is to add the drag wire below...but i'd have to redulce my tank size to run compression members.

I'd like to see any proven centersection designs please so i can get the most efficient and safe result.Edited by: bigblackmastiff
