My S1S is nearing completion after a ground-loop. I have the gear legs installed that I bought from the late Jim 'Chopmo' Doyle's widow with the help of Shelton Stewart.
We have found that the Christen 844 Manual Fuel Pump System has the threads stripped out on the filter bowl and in the pump body where the bowl screws in. A previous owner or engineer/mechanic (I use the terms loosely) glued the bowl in, unbelievable! This was not picked up pre-purchase, so a word to the wise....
Anyway I need a replacement pump, and the Christen 844 would be the best, but they seem scarce.
Any info on the availability of the Christen unit, overhaul/seal kits or alternatives would be appreciated. My engine has no alternator, so I guess that rules out an electric unit.
