• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hey guys, condition inspecting and modifying my friend‘s Eagle with a new Sky Dynamics 4-1 exhaust this year (angle valve IO-360) and have a concern about routing the bottom breather line that goes from sump to breather canister. Originally it was touching the #3 exhaust tube, which despite its fire sleeve thought was a no-no. Rejiggered the -10 fittings, including using a straight one on the canister bottom, but ended up going back with the original elbow, reclocking and rerouting the line (see pics). Thought maybe a straight fitting from the sump could work, but the original elbow has the embedded standpipe tube and not sure Christen makes a straight -10 with standpipe. I think we have enough clearance, maybe 1/4” with everything tightened up. Pics are a bit sloppy but I’m mid-install with not everything buttoned up. Thoughts? Thanks…
