• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I have run into some confusion on drawing 100-200 Wing assembly. At the aft spar attachment location the landing wire fitting encroaches into the space allocated for the 1inch Compression tube fitting. The Compression tube fittings are made from 1in square tube , The Spar attachment holes are spaced 1.375 oc, when the AN3 hex head is in position and the landing wire fitting is in position approximately .85in is available. All dimensions are accurate to those depicted on 100-200. Reducing the landing wire ftg shoulder would be pretty severe leaving approximately a 1./16in shoulder. I suppose I could insert a .090 thick shim between the spar plate and compression tube fitting ( that's the thickness of the offending landing wire fitting.) . Hopefully someone out there has crossed this Skyote bridge and can comment accordingly. If anyone has an uncovered wing a quick look would tell the story as well. According to the cartoons the assembly should be spar attachment plate, landing wire fitting, brace wire lug, compression tube fitting, no spacer is depicted... Also I presume the compression tube nominal lengths depicted include the .060 end caps, . thanks to all in advance. Tom
