Hi,
How long does it take for your 360's to get to 180f at oats near or less than 40f? Also, are you able to see oil temp withing 5 min of start at oats of 40ish?
I have a "standard" Skybolt cowl with a blocked off oil cooler. At cool temps as described above, I have to wait in excess of 10 min to see 100F on the ground. This after starting with an oil sump temp of 90F. In flight, it takes 10+ min of trying to get the oil temp to 180F. Is this normal? I would have though that by starting with a sump of 90, temps would have come up sooner than that. The gauge is accurate, and the probe is mounted per normal location top left. I have a 150w pad heater that is left on all night. The top cylinders were at 70ish before start.
All this normal or coolish?
