• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

In the new normal of virtual meetings, my EAA chapter (chapter 84, based at S43 in Snohomish, WA) realized that our monthly meetings could now very easily benefit from presenters who aren't in the Seattle area. So, we're putting out a call for people who would be interested in presenting at a Tuesday night meeting on any topic EAA members might enjoy.

Of course, I thought of this forum. We have so many experienced people, some of whom probably already have this kind of presentation prepared. I figured we might have biplane folks who'd like to talk about aerobatics (intro to; experiences in; crazy stories about), warbirds, biplane/homebuilt history, or building techniques such as TIG welding, gas welding, fabric work, painting, carbon fiber work, wooden wings, etc. Most of the skills that this forum takes for granted are considered somewhat exotic or unattainable in the current world of aluminum and composite kit builders, and would make for a good program.

Our meetings are the second Tuesday of the month, at 7 pm Pacific time. We typically run until about 9 pm, with the second hour usually being the presenter's time. Presentations have lasted anywhere from about 30 minutes to about 90 minutes, but 45-60 minutes is what we're generally aiming for. If this sounds like something you'd like to do -- show off your work! be adored by dozens of airplane nerds! -- let me know, either here or by PM.
