I fly a Marquart Charger (mild aerobatics) which has the AN674AC 1/4-28 streamline tie rods purchased from Steen (Brunton rods). I am re-tensioning the wires due to some vibration in flight and am using a tensiometer in the process. What is the recommended tension for 1/4 inch streamline wires. I currently have them set at around 500-600 pounds of tension (125-140 in. pounds on the tensiometer. I have seen the use of 600 pounds for other aircraft (Pitts, Skybolt, etc.) but am not sure what size rods are being used on those planes.I don't want to over-tension the rods. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
