Hello All,
We are currently building the firewall but have a question about the bottom. The bottom of the fire wall shown in the plans does not extend down as low as the first bottom former in line. In other words from the first former forward the belly pan begins to pitch up. On top the plans give you a dimension of
5-1/4 inches up from the top longeron but nothing is stated how low the firewall goes below the lower longeron, or I just cant seem to find it. Has anyone that has built the firewall figured this out, is it personal preference. In pictures of airplanes it looks as though from this first former it is about a straight line up to the bottom of the nose bowl ??? Im sure not many have built the firewall with the nose on the plane. What am I missing here ?? Or is the bottom of the firewall cut the same as all the bottom front formers ??
Thanks, Nick
