• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hi everyone!

I've decided that the Biplane Forum is the best place to post a build thread for the Timber Tiger ST-L kit I am just about to start. I know the folks here, and between the airplane's open cockpits and all the streamlined wires, I have been granted the title of "honorary biplane" by a few friends I have here.

I will be keeping my official build log using the EAA website. Here is the link: https://eaabuilderslog.org/?s=Ryan_ST_Replica

For those not familiar with this project, the plane is the Timber Tiger ST-L which is a 95% scale modernized version of the Ryan ST series aircraft including the ST, ST-A, PT-16, PT-20, and PT-20A.

I have been involved the development of this kit for about 6 years now helping primarily with the associated CAD work, design for manufacture, design for assembly, and tooling.

Last year I had the pleasure of flying the aircraft to AirVenture with stops at Poplar Grove and Broadhead. I'll be bringing the plane back to Oshkosh again this year! It will be tied down in the kit planes manufacturers area.

Glenn
