• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Hello all, This is Rick Smith from Georgetown Tx (at 07TS). Like many of us like-minded individuals I've been immersed in aviation and drawn to baby bipes for as long as I can remember. Over the years I have built a Sidewinder in the 80s, then an RV-6 in the 90s along with restoring several tube and fabric jobs in between. Creating and workmanship along with the pure design of aircraft are what I thrive on. I roll around in my hangar at night in an office chair enjoying the presence of whatever airplane is there. Currently I have a Christavia N60DH built by a craftsman and am just now to the point where I can start on a biplane and finish it! Semi-retired, attached hangar and just sold the Harley, etc :)
My short list includes the Mong, a Miniplane, possible a light Pitts and if there was any chance of finishing it a KT Imperial that would be it!. After laying eyes on Hale's it makes building anything else seem like second choice. had the plans for years but never started any parts.
Any encouragement is greatly appreciated and helpful.
Regards,
Rick
