Heel Rails - what to use to protect ?

I've seen a few threads about heel rails and either using powder coating or putting swirls in the metal for the finish.

I wanted to know if anyone has tried using the paint they use on truck bed liners? I was thinking that would take a lot of abuse.

Thoughts?
