I am starting a project on my nose bowl and looking for opinions on how to design the air inlet to the fuel servo.

Currently my set up is per plans with a metal box mounted on the back of the nose bowl and a rectangular runner mounted to the fuel servo. The rectangular runner then slides into the box and there is a mesh screen on the front of the nose bowl.

My current idea is to build a contoured intake in the nose bowl with a cone shaped intake runner mounted to the fuel servo which slides into the contoured portion of the nose bowl with some room to spare for movement of the engine and nose bowl. Hopefully my drawing makes more sense

2 questions I have

1) does a supplier make a forcing cone type runner for the fuel servo or do folks generally make their own. I made a practice piece out of carbon fiber using a drink cup as a mold. It came out pretty good but making it was a complete pain in the ....

2) Could the fuel servo runner be mounted aft of but not touching the intake piece so the two are free floating or should there be some type of connection between the two. I believe the Extra is set up like that. Is there concern with under normal flying conditions movement between the intake runner and intake portion would become off center therefore robbing the engine of intake air.

If anyone has an idea or design they would like to share I am all ears.
