Hi guys,

Quick question about high RPM and Slick Magnetos... Does anyone know if continued operation at ”high” RPM tends to wear out coils and or capacitors at a quicker rate? FYI I’ve just completed a 500 hr inspection on my Slick Mags and had a bad coil. I’m wondering if these items wear out quicker and would it be something to pay attention to. Just looking for a little historic info from the past... The 70s and 80s had a lot of S1s running high RPM and I was curious whether or not there were many recurring Mag issues, capacitors etc.

A little background info, my Pitts is flown with two throttle settings... ON and OFF and over the past 10 years I’ve had no issues thus far. Thanks again...
