• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I've been trying to locate info on what HP difference exists between a Y exhaust, crossover and 4 into 1 exhaust system for a stock injected IO-360 and so far I've been unable to find the info. My S1 needs a new system and I haven't decide which one to build. I don't intend to compete, but any free HP would be nice. Vetterman has posted some info on 4 into 1's and 4 individual pipes, but I haven't found anything that includes the basic Y system as installed on many S1's. There is little difference shown in the tests that Vetterman did comparing 4 into 1's and a 4 individual pipe system. I'm new to this site and It's amazing how much information is available from the members. I've built a lot of exhaust systems over the years for customers to fit various experimental aircraft, but I built what they asked for and never saw any test results for what they had me build.

Cheers
Michael .... or Enzo as most of my friends call me
