• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

The landings keep getting better. I've been out in pretty strong crosswinds now and I'll be transitioning to cement soon.

I did something last weekend that seemed to make a big difference.

Since my first flight in the plane, I felt I wasn't getting enough up elevator trim for approach and landing. Since the elevator forces are so light, I just kinda looked past this.

This past weekend I made some adjustments to the travel limits of the elevator trim and moved them towards the direction of nose up trim.

As far as I can tell, the plane is suddenly much better behaved during landing. Since the trim system in the Charger changes the incidence of the horizontal stabilizer, wouldn't it make sense that such a change would greatly affect how these planes behave especially during approach and landing?
