• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

For posters here that fly IAC competition, Lorrie Penner and Trish Deimer have graciously offered to have me present my seminar on competitor preparation for moving from IAC Sportsman to Intermediate as a webinar. The announcement is on the EAA Webinars page, http://eaa.org/webinars/

2/25/14 7 p.m. CST Competition Aerobatics - Moving up from Sportsman to Intermediate
Weston Liu This webinar will help guide you in determining when to move up from the Sportsman to Intermediate aerobatic competition category. Tips on evaluating competency will be presented and how to assess your preparedness.

I am one of those lucky guys who get to hang around with some very accomplished aerobatic pilots, including Mike Goulian, Rob Holland, John Morrissey, and Dennis Sawyer. Nikolay Timofeev, Linda Meyers-Morrissey, and Keoki Gray have also been kind enough to offer advice at various times in the 34 contests that I have flown. This presentation attempts to pass on the advice that I have received so that the next generation Sportsman pilots looking to move up will be able to dive into the box for the first Intermediate contest flight confident that they have the flying skills in their hands and feet, and the tactical skills in their brain, to post a good score after a safe flight.

If you are flying IAC Sportsman, hope you can join me on 2/25.

Thanks,

Wes :D
