I am trying to figure out how to secure the cabane fairing.
So I drilled 1/8" holes down the length of the fairing and through the plywood floor of the fuel tank bay.

Then I measured the cavity of the bay (6") and then the height of the fuel tank (6")
I have not installed the tank yet, wing is upside down at the moment.
Anyway, my idea of riveting in nut plates on the inside has gone out the window because there is no room and I would be scared of screws poking their way into the tank.

I have on each end, two nut plates and these are out of the way of the gas tank.
Right now it's pretty stable and secure, with the few screws. But when I cut it for installation around the flying/landing wires I am afraid it will be too flimsy with the reworked model.

I am thinking of inserting # 6 screws through from the inside and laminating a strip of glass fiber over the screw head to plywood floor.
And when the center section of the cabane fairing is in place, use acorn nuts to hold the fairing in place.

As anyone solved the problem of attaching the fairing without jeopardizing the fuel tank?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
