Have a question about the Christen inverted oil system:
I'm installing a Christen system on my IO-540 and I see that the weld-on bung is made out of 6061 Aluminum. In addition, the kit suggests ER4043 rod.
However, I have a sneaking suspicion that the pan is actually magnesium.
Who can I talk to that has experience doing this? I don't have any problem welding aluminum or magnesium, but I sure don't want to put myself in a situation where I have to join dissimilar metals.
Thanks in advance, guys.
