Awhile back on another thread we talked a bit about Jungmeister N4937, which was a Birx-built ship in the 1970s. I had identified it as the Jungmeister that had an interesting “issue” at Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. It’s prop came off in the pattern, and the owner/pilot landed without incident. In the following days when the prop was recovered, Dave Fox, a famous pilot at Old Rhinebeck, rung the plane out thoroughly. The pilot was Steve Halpern, who had lost an arm in an elevator repair accident. Budd described him quite well in that other thread. I recently laid hands on a copy of the magazine where Budd’s photos of the plane were published along with one of his fantastic pilot reports. I thought I’d share the photos of the photos from the magazine, just because, you know….who doesn’t like photos of Jungmeisters? Would love to know where the shots were taken. The plane is currently with Dave Martin I believe. 1979 Jungmeister glory. Enjoy.
