• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

This is a little bit premature, since I'm (still) waiting for wood to arrive from Wicks, but I am making slow progress, and starting to make things that are airplane-part-shaped, so I figured I might as well get it started.

I've been writing journal/blog entries about the process so far, but haven't provided explicit links to them here yet. You can go to this link and see what I've written on the subject (this link will continue to be valid into the future):

I will also post progress here, with Smizo's build thread as the model (though I can practically guarantee his work will look better than mine :D). Journal posts will be intended for a general audience, while this thread will be more technical.

I've been generating some new lists, CAD files, and PDF drawings as I plan the build, and those are posted (or will soon be posted), along with the public-domain plans, here:

Rib wood should ship Any Day Now<tm>, and the spar order went through mere moments ago (expected in ~6 months). As soon as my order arrives, I'll launch into rib production, starting with the basic -293 ribs (16 required), and branching out to the different rib types as I go.
