• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

We are finally in what I call final assembly. When we put something on from now on "we torque it and safety wire it".
Firewall forward is nearly complete. Finishing the mounting of the oil cooler on the front baffle (left side).

Those fasteners are temporary until we finish fabing a support brace. This pick shows the fuel rail for our digital fuel injectors; Superior cold air induction/oil sump; Throttle body to go on; flex hoses for oil return lines and Vetterman stainless exhaust system.

In the cockpit we have a very simple uncluttered main instrument panel.
Main Panel.jpg

The GRT EIS is in the front panel, but is in sight for engine start. After start the glass panel will show all engine parameters along with PFD and map display. Just above it are engine parameter exceedance alert lights. VHF and TXP (with ADS B out) control heads; Start enable switch and electronic mixture; Essential buss CBs and ELT control head complete the panel.

The Right Hand console has all the Battery, Alternator, Fuel Pump, Ignition switches and Start Button.

The lighting switches and headset receptacles complete the lower part of the R/H console.

On the Left Hand side is the throttle (missing in the photo), and in the cubby hole the prop Vernier.
LH Console.jpg

The elevator trim is the vernier knob (installed backwards). Cockpit air control and USB port for EFIS on this side console.
Well, it is experimental after all so we used our imaginations to try to make it as simple as possible for the pilot. That means it is a very complicated build. We work slow so it has taken a while. As I have mentioned before our group is made up of almost all "septuagenarians" so we won't be doing any competitive aerobatics in this thing. But, it is fun to look at the world from upside down now and then.
