• The Biplane Forum is a large global active community of biplane builders, owners and pilots. From Pitts to Skybolts, to older barnstormers, all types are welcome. In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.

The Biplane Forum is a private community. Subscriptions are only $49.99/year or $6.99/month to gain access to this great community and unmatched source of information not found anywhere else on the web. We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction). Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I have some time that I wanted to do some initial cursory review of engine options. I don't plan to seriously look for a while but I like to do my research up front. Then when I'm ready to buy I'll know a good deal when I see one.

Where is a good resource for Engine data? I'm looking at Lycoming options. Weight, power, etc. General stuff.

I read a post recently that someone indicated Wikipedia is wrong a lot of the time regarding aircraft engine data.

If this is the case can we get someone from here (biplaneforum) with sufficient knowledge to volunteer and go fix it? Well not fix all of it, but the ones that we here usually refer to and care about? 235, 290, 320, 360, 540. That is the beauty of the wiki. Fix it and it will stay if you have sufficient info and referencing data posted to back it up. Then again I may be naive.Edited by: GoldenAge
